He was tried as an adult and sentanced to serve 25 years in prison. While incarcerated moosa made every effort towards personal and environmental development. As a co- founder of the dixon writing team, he saw fit to have programming for individuals to recieve some form of theraputic rehabilitation through the arts. Simultaneously moosa and his partner begin organizing on the outside using the arts as a vehicle to bring awareness to his situation. All his hard work would prove to be all worth it when on April 9th, 2020 after serving 13 years in prison, Moosa was granted his freedom by the governor of Illinois.
